Kepupusan haiwan (animal extinction) bermaksud lenyapnya atau sudah tiada lagi sesuatu haiwan itu di muka bumi ini.
Kewujudan haiwan-haiwan tersebut hanya dapat kita ketahui melalui penemuan fosil-fosil, sejarah, serta penyelidikan yang dilakukan.
Antara haiwan-haiwan yang telah pupus di muka bumi ini ialah:
T-Rex
T-Rex adalah haiwan yang menyerupai cicak raksasa yang hidup di zaman dinasour. Hampir kesemua haiwan yang hidup di zaman dinasour telah pupus.
Burung Dodo
Burung dodo ialah burung jinak dari Kepulauan Mauritius. Burung ini tidak boleh terbang. Haiwan ini pupus kerana diburu oleh pelayar yang singgah di situ, manakala telurnya dimakan oleh tikus dan kucing.
Quagga
Quagga ialah haiwan yang mempunyai badan yang sebahagiannya adalah menyerupai kuda dan sebahagian lagi menyerupai kuda belang (zebra). Haiwan ini diburu manusia untuk mendapatkan kulit dan dagingnya.
Mamot
Mamot (mammoth) adalah sejenis haiwan yang menyerupai seekor gajah pada zaman ais (ice age).
Harimau bertaring lengkung
Harimau bertaring lengkung mempunyai taring yang panjang (hampir sepanjang 30 cm).
